Hey guys, I recently purchased E10K amp/dac and I absolutely love it!

Unfortunately though, my PC started crashing when I'm using it. The problem appears randomly, usually while I'm playing games or watching movies, i.e. when there is some sound played though the amp.

In an instant all sound gets muted and when I try to adjust the volume on the amp (or switch it off and on again) I get the blue screen error and my PC restarts itself. I'm running 64 bit Win 8.1 Pro, and have the correct FiiO firmware installed.

Any ideas of why this might be happening?

Try uninstalling the drivers from Fiio and using the Windows drivers instead. This are more stable than the Fiio ones.

Thanks for the suggestion, i'll try the Windows drivers for now, as I'm also getting daily BSODs due to the Fiio drivers on my 8.1 machine.

However, I'm hopeful that a firmware fix will be coming, as the Fiio drivers presumably offer more (namely ASIO support) than the those from Windows.

I've been having the same problem...and just uninstalled the driver in the "Device Manager" window. I'm not totally sure it reverted to a windows driver or just used an older version of a Fiio driver, I'll have to wait and see. It would be great if others with this issue would just comment here so that Fiio could update the driver...I'd love to suggest this company to others, but such a hardware issue makes it a nice one-time purchase, but I probably won't try this company again.

Within 10 minutes - my Win10 crashed...now I remember why I updated my driver to the one on the website. I really can't use this thing anymore until this issue is fixed!

UPDATE - I didn't properly remove the driver previously. Now it works fine - no more crashing. How to remove driver - download the driver program and run it. It should prompt you to remove/repair/install, and choose remove.

I'm having daily bsod's (blue screen of death) with presumably my e10k. Ran driver verifier and have the dump file but it seems that I can safely guess it's this unit. I'm seeing people say that you need to uninstall asio drivers or whatever they're called which I did through control panel. I also uninstalled drivers from device manager. I plugged the unit into a different port to force windows to install any drivers needed which seems to be the solution from some people; however it doesn't seem to download any with the new connection. I don't want to deal with daily bsod's so if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful

Hi, Gabe, so you install the asio driver? Yes, the asio driver may not be compatible well with your pc. Pls uninstall it.
In general, the driver in E10k will be installed automatically when you plug it to your pc. So you don't need to install the asio driver for E10k.

I have had the exact same problem after installing the driver from this site. I tried removing via control panel, and through the program I installed it with, but still getting daily BSOD crashes when the FiiO E10K is plugged in.

Is there a way to absolutely be sure I removed that driver? does it show up somewhere in the file manager? Is there any update on how to absolutely remove this faulty software?

FiiO, for the love of everything good, remove the links to this bad software. I can't use your product anymore due to installing it.

Dear friend,

For the blue screen issue, please stop the music first before unplugging the E10K. And if you have installed the ASIO driver, please uninstall it.

Best regards

Dear friend,

I changed the driver to generic windows "Usb audio device" and this stopped my crashing.
