Q: Why can't deleted songs be automatically be deleted from Favorites and Playlists as well?

A: We cannot predict users' preference in this regard and so prefer to keep users' data to err on the side of safety; on the other hand, setting the media library update to check whether each favorited / playlisted song had been deleted from the filesystem has been found to slow the media library update to unacceptable levels, not presenting a plesant user experience.

Hello,

I would like to pick up this point.

I re-arranged file names on my X1, because in replay from folder the titles were played in alphabetical order and not according to track number. That's Ok for me.

BUT - now there are titles left in favourites that don't exist any more and entries are skipped with a message during playing.

How can I delete this tracks from favourites? They are not availlable in any other list and selecting the basket in favourites folder itself doesn't work.

I can't believe that I have to save this tracks onto the SD with the old names just to delete the favorite entries

Hello,

I would like to pick up this point.

Pls eject the sd card, then update the library. This will delete the database. After this, pls plug the sd card then update the library. This can help to delete the titles left in favorites.

Also please note when ever you update to new firmware you have to make a new favourite list.

Hello,

thanks for the quick answer.

@Yellow: My first thought was, that ALL favourites will be lost following this procedure. When there is nothing to read to what will be compared to? Following the display the database had been updated to "0" tracks. But my doubts had been unfounded, because nothing had changed in favourites list - still the same orphaned entries.

@shitzu: Yes, that's OK and what I expect when I flash a new FW: A clean boot, something like a factory reset.

Solved - delete orphaned favourites

Edited by Micha-San at 2016-1-4 01:20

Hello again,

to be honest - following the manual sometime helps

2) Entering Favorites from the main menu. Press the Shortcuts key to batch add or remove
songs (press OK to select and enter the songs list); use the scroll wheel to select a song,
Previous or Next to add/remove a song from the list, and finally press OK to save changes.

I was trapped following a false logic

I tried removing the sdcard, updating and the library and then putting it back in and updating again and it didn't delete my favorites. I have a lot of favorites and it's going to take a very long time to scroll through all of them. Any other options?

Best option is to copy your files from your sd card to your pc and format the sd card and copy files again again. Favourite list is only cleared when new firm update is done.
