Hello.

I'm am happy owner of X5 II and I found listening to tracks with 44.1 KHz/16 bit that is sounds worse (less detailed and dynamic) than same tracks played on my PC with my device connected as external DAC but upsampled by OS to 192 KHz/24 bit.

So I suggest that developers of firmware for X5 2nd gen. players add option to choose wether upsample or not data of a track while playing before send it to internal DAC.

It will be huge improvment in sence of music experience and enjoyment.

Thank you.

Why? Upscaling will do nothing:

A: You cannot add detail that was not there in the first place
B: There's no point choosing higher sample rates than 44.1kHz, no human will ever be able to hear anything higher than the 22.05kHz it stores. If you believe you can hear the difference with higher sample rates you are simply promoting pseudo-science. 192kHz is the audio equivalent of homoeopathy. You can read more about it here.

The only time you should be using higher sample rates are for live audio where you'll get reduced roundtrip latency.

Hello.

I don't wanna argue concerning "golden ears" and so on. I'm talking about particular DAC chip and not about what you may hear or not with your ears. This particular chain of ICs gives some audible advantage while using higher sample rates. Highs and mids sound more vivid and better separated from each other. Micro dynamics getting better on highs and less audible on mids.

Of course there are people who don't hear any frequency over 15 KHz or even less.
It also depends on music you listen to and either headphones or earphones you use.

I feel the same. 44.1 KHz/16 bit songs sounds worse than on my computer.

Hi,

How about
1."Charge only" option on USB mode.
2. "DAC without charging" option for made it compatible with mobile devices such as Smartphone or tablet.

Thanks,

There's the problem with "File name display" option. When I choose "Title" it shows me file name (i.e. "01 name.mp4") as the name of song either in folder view or media library view. Then I choose "File name" and result is the same as with "Title".

Please fix.

There's another issue, for me at least, GUI is a bit laggy. Especially the will, it sometimes reacts not at first will turn but at second or even third.

Also charge indication is not perfect. It doesn't show critical level of charge, i.e. it shows me some charge is remaining, say appropriately 1/5 and suddenly it shuts down without any notice or warning.

Please fix.

Can you add an option for random play (shuffle) of both TF cards or at least one.
Thank you

I'd be happy with a faster way to scroll through long lists (holding previous/next buttons jump to next letter in alphabet? Scroll wheel acceleration?).

Also could use a proper sort.  I have issues finding some items because they get tucked in the middle of other titles, such as:

The A...
The B..
The B...
Theory of a Deadman
The O...

Only other issue I really have is sluggish response with about 10,,000 FLAC files loaded between both cards... time from pressing next to the time the display updates and I can "Next" again is about 2 seconds.  I've had other players (such as the Sony NWZ-X1061) that were much more responsive.

Aside from those issues, the audio quality is second to none.  Took me a while to get things tweaked, since I mainly use line out to feed the Bose audio system in my car for the hour drive to/from work every day. It sounds amazing - even better than the Sony S-Master amp output I had tweaked before which I thought was great.

Dear all
Thank you for your suggestions. Maybe some of them are hard to realize, we will take all your suggestion into consideration, and try your best  to realize them. These are related to the software design.

My suggestions:-

1. When scrolling through my music I would like a page up and down option to speed up the scrolling. This could be activated when holding the fast forward or rewind buttons for page up and page down.

2. When in the genre view. Please list by album and not list all tracks in one big list.  I would like to use this view when searching my soundtrack albums.

3. As already mentioned, a random/shuffle mode.

Suggestion: QUEUE TRACKS OR ALBUMS IN ACTIVE QUEUE LIST:

Hi!

As a follow-up to this post, see below suggestion.

My DAP is FiiO X5 II fw1.26beta.

Is there a way or is there a plan (about when then) to queue a track (song), album or play list to a currently playing active queue?
The active queue does not have to be an existing playlist (but it can), just a queue
The active queue should be dynamically editable (feature to remove past and coming albums, track(s), play lists from active queue (not the playlists or albums themselves)); removing an item from active queue does not delete it from DAP.
It should be possible to save the active queue list as a new named play list.
The new play list name should be editable.

Why this feature? To act like a DJ

A reference: the DAP Jukebox from Soundblaster... A very old DAP with just fine features for managing playlists, queue list, and even searches. I still have it working and I love it!
A link: http://ccftp.creative.com/manual ... Guide%20English.pdf
In this guide, lookup:
-- "Queueing an album" & "Queueing a track" and "Active Queue List".
-- and "Searching for an ALBUM, ARTIST, GENRE or PLAY LIST"
in the guide, replace "+" and "-" button with turn wheel "clockwise" and "counter clockwise"

Implement this and this FiiO DAP becomes a killer! Which it is almost already.

Thoughts?

     Thanks.

Suggestions:
1. Basic file explorer to copy or move file in between folders.

2. Double press the middle button to pause/play songs to prevent accident click.

3. Can edit file tag

This is an issue I have been having since the previous generation 1 X5.  When you have an artist for which you have many albums (around 7 or 8+), clicking on an album (especially those further down the list) results in all of the artists songs from each album you have being displayed.  To fix it, you must go back out to the albums page, click another album, go back once again to the albums page, and then go once again to the album folder you wish to see.  Sometimes this process has to be repeated several times.  I've reported it as a bug before about a year ago on the first generation X5.  It is still there and annoying as ever.

my suggestions:

1) album view should be a little bigger and album art should be showing on side.
2) put an search box in the category menu to alow users to search for a file name.
3)add option to rename a playlist.
4) when going back to the artist/album/etc view should go to the location you was last.

Dear Friends. Thank you all for your inputs and patronising Fiio Dap. It is our endeavour to fulfill all suggestions but due to software limitations it is not possible always. I request you to read previous suggestion threads too,  as most of the time suggestions have already been requested earlier.
This will avoid duplication. Thank You.
