Is the path/name character limit for playlist tracks just an issue for the X1 or everyone?  I'm surprised that it hasn't made the list.

In a nutshell....

If the file name including the path is over 128 characters the player will just skip it.

Also, it would also be nice if the built in playlist building was actually worth using...like being able to add whole albums, artists or genres.

Thanks

Kurt

It's an issue for everyone it seems.

I'm sure the length will be fixed in both scan and playlist, but I will add it as well.

Also, yes, I'll add that last feature as well, It's right up there with the Export/Import feature.

Would be fine to have the possibility to loop on a part of a song, like in Hi-Fi CD player A-B option.

I would like a better way to navigate through songs. I have over 2,000 artists on my X1, and if I browse artists in category view, it takes forever to get to any artist that begins with M.

Another important feature would be for M3U playlists to display the title and not the file path.

Demand FiiO to return your X1 and supply it with adequate internal memory.

They simply mis-designed the device from the start.
It has too low memory to handle +64Gb Songs without pain.

Why? Because their goal was to sell a cheap product in prior.

Dont make the error to sell it and buy higher class of FiiO-DAPs they suffer the same.

Unfortunately they are incapable of  tweaking the algorythms to sort and parse faster, so there's no light at the end of the tunnel right now.

When you try a different player from the market that is claim to support 128GB you will find out: No other competitor's device sucks more than FiiO in this point (parse&sort).

FiiO places great importance on users’ needs and ceaselessly pursues perfection in product design and manufacturing, to supply users with the best audio products at the best prices.

memory is perfectly designed.

Hi, I am new to the forum, got my X1 since a few days and love it :-)

Here's a feature I miss: An option for the sleep timer where you can set that it finishes the last song and not aborts it in the middle after the time runs out!

Thank you in advance for adding this feature to the list (and maybe to firmware 1.6... :-) )

So you want it to shut down after a period of time idling...
That thing already exists and is called "Idle Poweroff".

  No, I understand what you are looking for. You want, when the timer runs out, to not shut it down immediately, but after the song that is playing when the timer runs out is finished. This is currently not how it works (there is no option to enable it). When the timer runs out, it will shut down right at that time, whether a song is playing, or it is in the middle of the song, etc....

@samandhi :yes you got it....

Little explanation to make it clearer: You set the sleep timer for 30 minutes and the last song starts after 28 minutes and it is 5 minutes long. So the total time the fiio is playing is 33 minutes and not 30 minutes.

I know this feature from the mort player (App for Android) and I use it all the time for audiobooks because it's annoying when the speaker stops right in the middle of a track

  I also use a 3rd party app timer, but for different reasons (though it has the option to do either). I use it mainly because the Google Play Music app doesn't have any sort of sleep timer, and is not effected by the system timer.

  The only reason that is not as important to me, is because I use it ONLY for sleep, and by the time the timer goes off and shuts down playback, I am asleep, and can not tell whether it stopped in the middle of a song or at the end. But, I can see scenerios that might need this feature added. I hope Fiio will add this in the future.

I have one more. Can FiiO change the method of low battery warning for X1? Instead of showing drained battery symbol on display every few seconds (and drain battery even faster) could the small LED blink? Sort of the same warning that is used for A3.

While I still don't have my X3K, I'd appreciate (though not die for) these features:
* expand OTG mode by supporting playback through class-compliant USB DACs
* also corresponding to first suggestion - allow deactivation of all audio hardware inside the unit to save power for external USB DAC
* 200GB Sandisk MicroSDXC support
* already discussed Replaygain (! important !)
* OGG-Opus support
* support for DST compression (DSD lossless compression) if possible - I realize it's CPU heavy decoding

Thanks

I have my X3 2nd gen for a few days now. The hardware is awesome, but the UI is seriously lacking imo.

Some things I think should be added to new firmware versions:

-The "shortcut" button is useless, it still takes way to many clicks to get from songs to EQ settings for example, make the shortcut list a little longer with: back to homescreen; settings; EQ; etc.

-apart from the EQ I would also like to see a Bass Booster like function for the bassheads like me (and perhaps also a treble booster, but I don't necessarily need that).

-Make it possible to assign a specific EQ to a specific playlist. now you have to go all the way to the EQ (with lots of clicks) to change settings, while it would be a lot easier to be able to assign the "Classical" EQ to a playlist with lots of orchestra music and the "Dance" EQ to a playlist with lots of dance music for example.

-I was pretty surprised to find out you can't use the EQ when you use your Fiio as USB DAC, Why not?! please show the EQ setting in the USB DAC settings too.

-It would be really nice to also be able to use the USB DAC in combination with mobile phones and tablets...

-When you plug the X3 in your PC for either storage or DAC use, it completely forgets what song it was playing, and thus also at what minute/second it was. Please just make it only pause the song when you plug it in and not completely forget the song.

-I would also really like to see some kind of 'quick playlist'. It's a kind of playlist function where you select a few songs (either from your song library or another playlist), after you have selected them you can listen to them in the order you selected them, and once a song is finished the DAP automatically deletes it from the playlist. So basically ererytime you finished the 'quick playlist' it swipes itself clean for new use. This would be very usefull for the days or nights that you really want to listen to this song, that song, and than that specific song. So when you've finished it you are probably sound asleep and the DAP won't continue playing for another 5 hours.

-auto recognise maps on your microSD as playlists (perhaps only when they have [playlist] in the file name or something like that). Or at least make it possible to create playlists on your PC.
edit: I did some more research and found out this should be possible using m3u files, this looks like it is quite a hassle for just a simple playlist though, should be an easier way to do this right?

It could be I have missed some things I listed above in the few days I have used it. Please tell me if that's the case. But these are functions I'd just really like to see and think they are absolutely a must.
