We have tested the Sandisk 200GB card with our players and it can work fine. As for the 256GB card, we have not yet got one here in the Chinese market for testing, so we are not sure about this. If you guys get it to test with our DAPs, it will appreciated if you can also kindly give a feedback in this thread.

I have a FIIO X1, 200gb card formatted exFAT works great with 140gb of 256kbs AAC files.  The X1 is very slow with that many files, some times delays of 10-20 seconds with button selection, folder mode works best with no delays.

Considering the positive feedback, Yellow you can add the support in the next firmware update for all Daps. Thanks.

Thank you. EvThe Killer.

Now that I have 150gb of music on it, I have noticed a few things.

I always choose my music by Artist > Album. Opening the list of artists is always fast, but there is usually a 2-4 second pause before opening the list of albums by the artist. Then there is a 8-24 second pause opening the folder for the album. Likewise there is also a 15-30 second pause when you hit the back button from the now playing screen to go back to the album tracks. And another 5-12 second pause when going back to the list of albums for the artist from a selected album. However there is no pause when you move the wheel from now playing screen to view the tracks. And almost no pause when going back to the list of artists from the albums screen. There is zero pause when opening the all albums or all songs category. Sometimes the pauses get really annoying, but I haven't had any other issues with the player. I don't really understand it though because you'd think the player would be slow to open long lists of artists, songs, albums, not a folder of one album with a small amount of songs in it. I hope this is something that can be addressed with a future FW update.

Edit: The pauses do not seem to be present while browsing by folder instead of category. That gives me hope that this issue can be improved with a firmware update.

Also, the library update takes 25-30 minutes.

Hi, EvTheKiller, yes, it will be slow with large capacity of music. This is limited by the RAM. If you go to the folder, it doesn't need to deal with the data in the RAM. That is why there won't be pauses.

Oh ok, thanks. Yeah the browse by folder has been a good workaround and I don't really see any drawbacks as long as the software I use to sync the music keeps everything organized.  Hopefully the next generation of players has more RAM to handle large libraries.

My results with the 200Gb card on the X3II are very good so far and I wanted to share. Lot more details below:

200 Gb Sandisk card in X3 Generation II (running firmware 1.44beta as I wanted replaygain support)

X3 Gen II Successfully formatted the card as Fat32 using internal player storage formatting function

After that format Windows sees formatted capacity of 196,817,879,040 bytes (183 GB)

A lucky coincidence my collection totals 182 GB of music, 6358 songs spread accross 483 albums and 213 artists, all are flacs.  I have custom resized (320x240) album cover files for each album named fiio.jpg as external art in each album folder.

File structure on card is:

ROOT\Artist\Album\DiscNumber-TrackNumber-SongTitle.flac

Populating the data on the player with the card in it over USB has taken about 8 hours or so via robocopy script, but I think my USB interface speed might be limiting that, either way the nature of robocopy makes future library syncing pretty easy so that doesn't worry me much.

With all of the data on the card in windows it reads at just 1,078,198,272 bytes free (1.00 GB).

With the card nearly fully populated as such I ran the library update.  It took 2 minutes and 22 seconds and appeared to hang for about the last 10 seconds of that, however it found all of the files and genres, etc.

I'm now shuffling all 6358 songs and switching tracks/album art is less than half a second so it is very satisfying.  I'm thrilled to have everything in my pocket in lossless quality and replaygain is making all the difference when shuffling between 80s rock and modern electronica for volume.

Hope this helps anyone else thinking about the 200 GB card with their decision.

Hey guys, I just got a new SanDisk 200 gb micro sd card for my Fiio X7. However, the player cannot read the sd card and keeps rebooting. It may have something to do with the format of the card, can someone please tell me if needs to be FAT32 or ExFat? I have a mac, so I used Disk Utility to format into Fat32 and then copy all my music  - this part works just fine. When I insert the card into the player, it crashes and keeps rebooting.
