Thank you, that worked.

However, after adding the songs to the playlist, and putting them in the order I want, when I opened the playlist on the Fiio X5iii, the song order was changed.  They're now sorted alphabetically or by time.  What the hell?  Is it not possible to re-order the songs on a playlist?

The playlist contents do seem to be sorted based on the same rules as any other view. I always run on shuffle, so no issue for me, but it does seem odd that there is no way to view or play a playlist by its natural order.

Hello, I have recently purchased a X5 3rd gen, and have successfully created several playlists following the instructions provided in this thread.
Now I am having a problem with a new playlist, but I can't understand what it is because the error message [if it is an error message] I get from the player is in Chinese even though the language is set on English.

The same playlist regularly works elsewhere... no files missing or similar problems.
Admittedly it is bigger than the others, more than 400 songs, 90kb in size. Could this be the problem?

Attached a pic of the error message, for what is worth.
Please help

EDIT
I have the answer to my own question... FiiO does not see eye to eye to some characters: ò, à, è, etc.
Problem solved.

Just change the drive letter to "..\"

In other words, instead of "E:\Music" use "..\." That way if the drive letter ever changes everything will still work.

It works on firmware 1.6.6 and 1.7.2 for FiiO XI II and which letter is better to specify A or TF1 and the letter should be with or without a dot ?

Will this work if the filenames in Cyrillic (Russian) or contain diacritical marks?

If your files or folders have apostrophes, comas, semicolon, symbols or punctuation marks etc, the playlists WON´T WORK , THE WORST PART IS THAT FIIOX1II PLAYLIST SECTION DOESN´T RECOGNIZE OR DETECT EXTERNAL PLAYLISTS.

i hope FIIO fix this serious problem in the next firmware

What is the mount point of the external MicroSD Card on a Fiio M3K?

Thank you

I found the correct syntiax for the M3K:

A:\FiioMusic\Alberta Cross\Broken Side Of Time\05 Broken Side Of Time.m4a
A:\FiioMusic\Alice In Chains\Unplugged\01 Nutshell - Live at the Majestic Theatre, Brooklyn, NY - April 1996.m4a
A:\FiioMusic\Alice In Chains\Unplugged\02 Brother - Live at the Majestic Theatre, Brooklyn, NY - April 1996.m4a
A:\FiioMusic\Black Sabbath\Live Evil\11 The Sign of the Southern Cross_Heaven and Hell (Continued) - Live;Mob Rules Tour.m4a
....

and I've placed the .m3u file on the sdcard root.

But I do not find the playlist on the Categories section. I can only play it using file browser. Any suggestion?

Thank you.

Dear friend,

For external playlists, you could only read them from file browser.

Best regards

So this makes feel something must be wrong with me.

I have a FiiO X7, without using this doppler program, it would seem to me to be able use Mediamonkey, export a playlist and change the file locations within that file to this...for the external SD card

/mnt/external_sd//Music/Adam Faith/The Rock'N'Roll Era - Rave On/14 - Made You.mp3

Should this work?

and if you feel I need to use doppler, then exactly what did you mean with
/mnt/external_sd/... do I just prefix all the files with that for it to work? My PC sees the SD card in the FiiO X7 as drive "J"
