Hello, Colleagues!

Once agian i have faced with an issue on FiiO X5-II DAP

Every week i face with Idle Standby Timer Problem

It happens 2 times or 3-4 times a week. Player does not fall in standby mode and continue working.

And today i went for long trip and found that at the evening battery was full and now it is empty.

I was really disappointed.

Please fix this issue. And the issue with Equalizer.

I suppose there are a lot of bugs that could be corrected in FW 2.2 version.

I really want to buy X5-III, but this kind of issues make me think twice.

Regards,

Kibraiker7

Hello! I figured out, that this issue happens, when I use Fast Forward option! It's not random, as I thought! Try to check it)
I still hope FiiO will fix it, but until that, you can do this:
1. Try not to use fast forward (if it happens - power off your device, or see advice 2)
2. If you still want to use fast forward, you can activate Idle Standby by using sleep timer! (set it for 10 mins, after that time your device will fall into Idle Standby)

But I REALLY HOPE they will fix it! It's the only bug, that makes me sad(

P.S. Sorry for my English, it's not my native language, I hope you understand me
If you've found the solution - please tell me!)

Best wishes!

Sorry is this Fiio's official response? Not use fast forward is not an option. I own several fiio products and the only one that does this is the Fiio X5ii. Its pretty hard to remember not to fast forward on one of three devices i own.

Will fiio be fixing this in another firmware update? We have waited for a long time for new firmware and this issue has been floating around for years. Not using fast forward on a premium product is not acceptable.

I found a better temporary solution which is the following

Step 1: turn on/activate the screen and pause the song
Step 2: Hit the back button or home button to exit the now playing screen

after this it will go into standby, but you have to remember to exit the now playing screen every time. It will not go into sleep while paused in the now playing screen after using fast forward.

Please fix this fiio!

As far as I understand the answers from the user and the support
you can use "sleep timer" INSTEAD of "idle standby" - it should react the same way.
And then you can also use fast forward again.

Your temporary solution does NOT solve the problem, because if you have to think on leaving now playing screen you can also think on switching it off ;-)

The sleep timer is not a good method or fix, how do i predict when i want the player to turn off? Its a huge pain to have to go into the menu and set a new sleep timer. I would have to look at my watch and physically see when i want the player to enter sleep mode. Its also one additional thing to remember to do.

The temporary solution of exiting the now playing screen is much easier than setting the sleep timer and it does partially solve the problem. Yes if i remember to do this than i can also remember to hold the power button. However, holding the power button shuts the player down completely, which makes the idle standby completely useless and defeats the purpose of this feature.

I dont understand why Fiio cant just look into the bug and fix it.

You are absolutely right here!

It is a shame if "Sleep Timer" in your X5 REALLY does the same thing than "Idle Standby".

I am pretty sure that on my M3K the sleep Timer, of lets say 10 minutes, shuts down the unit after 10 minutes regardless music is running or I was "clicking" in the menu - shut down after 10 minutes.
On the other hand "idle standby" of 10 minutes shuts down the unit if there was no "clicking"or playing music - so I did not use the unit - for at least 10 minutes.

So yes, Fiio should fix the bug as soon as possible for X5! And maybe take a look at other units firmware if there is the same bug.

However, holding the power button shuts the player down completely, which makes the idle standby completely useless and defeats the purpose of this feature.

If I switch my M3K off completely it remembers the actual playing position nevertheless and I hope that it does not consume battery meanwhile. So that would be the better option for me ... if I would be able to remember on it every time  ;-)
