Together with one friend we bought two X5 iii.
Mine is working perfectly but I never updated.
The one owned by my friend blocked at the first firmware update loaded by user: I do not know which firmware version because device cannot be checked anymore.

This blocked device makes every step of booting procedure, but Android (being a new installation) tries to check all applications, I can see all diagnostic messages, but after all applications checking, the device reboots.
This gives an infinite loop and there is no way to stop, even switching off is impossible.
I tried to go into Android recovery mode, and deleting cache and user data.
No way, same infinite loop.

I think the only way is to install updated firmware via recovery mode, but I do not know how.
Any suggestion?

Many thanks to every supporter.

My device is working with old firmware: audio quality is wonderful, so I love this device, I need to convince my friend...

Dear friend,

Please try to hold the power button for at least 15s for restart.
If it still fails to help, you could  try to burn the firmware as well: http://fiio.me/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=41890&extra=

Best regards

I am really worried!

I tried to burn the firmware, both versions (1.1.9 and 1.2.1)
No success.
Device tried every time to start Android apps (now became 68) but fails at the end, reboots and goes into infinite loop.
Instructions are clear and I did all the steps successfully.

What next?

Dear friend,

You could try to wipe the data to see if it helps:

How to wipe the cache & data in Recovery mode on X5 3rd gen/X7/X7MKII?

Wiping the cache & data can be helpful for some problems with the Android system and apps(by restoring the system). When you forget the pattern/pin/password you set from security--screen lock, wiping is required as well. But it will also erase the installed apps and user settings (the stored music and other files will not be affected), so you may need to backup your personal data before this operation.

Here are the steps of wiping the cache & data on X7/X5 3rd gen:
a) Power off the X5 3rd gen/X7/X7MKII
b) i. For the X7 running Android 4.4.4, please hold the X7's Volume Down (at the left side of the unit) and Power button to enter the recovery mode. (For the firmware FW3.0beta or above, hold the Volume Up and Power button the same time)
ii. For the X5 3rd gen/X7MKII, please hold the Previous track button and Power button at the same time to enter the recovery mode.
c) Adjust the Volume UP/Down to select the 'wipe Cache Partition', then select 'Yes' to wipe the cache
d) Select the 'wipe data/factory reset' to wipe the data
e) Select the 'reboot system now' to restart the X5 3rd gen/X7/X7MKII

(Sometimes you may also need to repeat these steps for several more times if the problem cannot be solved after one try.)

Best regards

No way.

I tried dozen of times.
Both with version 1.1.9 and 1.2.1
Version uploading is correct because if I change, I see correct version on recovery mode screen.
But every reboot tries to optimize apps, then when apps should be ok it reboots instead of running.
This goes into infinite cycle of restarts. Always.

I do not see any other solution than sending to some hardware repair (I suspect something is bad on this unit because I have another one that works perfectly).

I am ready to pay shipping expenses, let me know...

Many thanks and best regards

Yes.
Every try has no success.
Wiping and deleting everything. More and more times.
Always the same infinite boot loop.

I will contact support for a repair.

Many thanks and best regards
