Hi There,

I purchased the Fiio Q5 last week and Im now unable toswitch it on. It has been charging via the side USB port but holding down thepower button doesn’t switch on the unit.

I've already tried holding the power button for 8 seconds and trying to reset the device with a pin.

Dear friend,

Did you try another usb cables and charger? And you could also reset the Q5 by poking the reset button. The red indicator will turn off after fully charged.

Hi there! I have read about this problem on a store's forum. The guy said that his Q5 started to charge only after removing the amp and attaching it again. Strange but you can try it too.

Here's what worked for me:
> Depress the power button for 8 seconds until the unit turns completely off
> Press and release the reset button (no need to hold it); the power button will illuminate
> Wait about 30 seconds for the unit to reset itself, then plug in your power cord *before* the Q5 shuts itself off
> The "charging" red bar should begin flashing, and the unit will turn itself off after it hasn't received an input signal for a few minutes

UPDATE: The technique above worked for me once, but it has not worked on subsequent attempts. The "failure to charge" issue occurs after each use with the USB input. I have not experienced failures when using the Q5 in Bluetooth mode. Fiio, if you're listening, this is a real problem that probably needs to be addressed via a firmware update. Please advise. Thank you.

Dear friend,

We did not get the feedback like that from other user instead. Which device you are connecting the Q5 to? Will the Q5 be charged when connecting? Did you try working as a USB DAC  in the computer?

Best regards
