Now that the new music app has been released for the X5 III (I think X7 II uses the same app now), I want to find out how many users still haven't tried the balanced amps available on these devices.

If you care enough about audio to buy a high-resolution DAP you should definitely be using a balanced amplifier. Having a built-in balanced amp is one of the best features of the X5 III and the X7 II. The difference between normal stereo and balanced audio is almost as noticeable as the difference between mono and stereo. Anyone with an X5 III or X7 II who hasn't listened to balanced audio should definitely consider doing so. If you currently own an IEM with MMCX cables then all you need to do is get a set of balanced cables with a 2.5 mm connector and depending on which IEM you have, it may have come with both single-ended and balanced cables. If you don't have IEM's with MMCX cables then I'm sure there are many opinions regarding which IEM's are best on these forums.

Once you have your balanced IEM's plugged into the 2.5 mm output on your DAP, make sure to enable High Gain and Balanced Turbo Mode. I think you will be totally amazed by the sound difference.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments regarding balanced audio.

Receivers use large round connectors similar to microphones which are called balanced cables but this is different from a balanced amplifier so unfortunately, it's not compatible. The only balanced connectors for headphones that I know of are 2.5 mm like the X5 III and the 4.4 mm connectors on some of the other amps which are fairly large.

They are different circuits and voltages. You would damage one, the other or both.
