Dear friend,

Would you mind showing me a small video? What's the model name of your mobile phone, ...

Model name of my mobile phone is Honor 10. Firmware version - 9.0.0.226 (last). FiiO BTR3 firmware version - 1.2.

Small video - https://youtu.be/HlxFX7bkOHA

But, if you read this thread carefully, no video is required.

Dear Friend
Try to Turn off WIFI and Mute All notification sound
Thanks for the advice. Some people even advise me to turn on airplane mode. But these are crutches. Everything should work well without it. Otherwise, why do I need this device? Better to use a small audio player.

Dear friend,

Did you try to turn on and off the HWA option in the FiiO Music app again for check? We still fail to reproduce the issue you meet, and you may also contact the support from Huawei mobile phone for help.

Best regards

I had the stuttering and wheezing issues and I fixed it via some steps below: -

1. Go to Settings => Apps => FiiO Music => Clear Cache & Clear Data
2. Uninstall the FiiO Music & Reinstall FiiO Music
3. Unpaired BTR3
4. RESET BTR3
5. Set BTR3 into Pairing Mode and Paired it to Phone
6. Launch FiiO Music
7. From FiiO Music Setting => BTR3 => Equalizer => Turn On => RESET => Turn Off
8. From FiiO Music Setting => BTR3 => CODEC => ENABLE HWA
9. From FiiO Music Setting => Enable HWA
10. From FiiO Music Setting => Equalizer => Turn On => RESET => Turn Off

Then you are done. You are right, 7 - 10 is important. FiiO Music duplicated the settings all over places and that is why you need to do it multiple times.

These are my personal findings after fiddling with BTR3 and FiiO Music. Generally, it is the implicit Equalizer on by Default after flashing the Firmware that is causing the issue, I guessed.

I am now with HWA with Mate 20 PRO happily without issues above.

My experience with Huawei Mate 20 and BTR3.

If I turn off HWA from the FIIO app, HWA is also disabled in developer/bluetooth/codecs menu and in the device connectivity/bluetooth/BTR3 setting (other settings in this menu LDAC playback quality set to "optimized for audio audio quality" and High sound quality switch set to ON).

Having said that, I have a *almost* no HWA codec stutters and wheezes if I setup the switch frequency from 96kHz to 48kHz. Having said that I am almost sure it will be more stable if I choose in the LDAC playback quality item the option "balanced audio and connection quality".

Hope this helps !

Edit : unfortunately the developer setting to set the frequency to 48khz doesn't stick... Everytime I turned on and connect Btr3 I need to go back to the settings and change again from 96khz to 48...very annoying!
