Hello,
I own M11 and use it for everyday. And Yesterday I just purchased M11Pro in hope that the sound would be better than M11.
The result is a bit underwhelming because I can't here the different at all between two unit (test with Sony IER-Z1R and XBA-Z5 with balanced cable)
So I try to adjust some setting to see If I can get the different. First try with Lowpass filter. No dice, nothing feel different between each setting. But then again lowpass filter is very subjective in term of hearing sound quality. Then try playing with EQ.
*That when I found the EQ preset in both M11, M11Pro doesn't work at all.
[EQ preset issue]
Step to reproduce
- Open Fiio Music App
- Play any music
- go to Setting -> Equalizer -> turn EQ on
- check: [user] setting must be in default (no value adjust)
- try select any preset in EQ
- observed: sound feel the same as before no noticeable change at all *at this point i think it either the change is very subjective or it is a software bug so I keep on testing*
- set to [user] again then try pusing any EQ bar to min/max value
- observed: there is noticeable change in sound *this work as intended*
- try change to other preset again
- observed: no noticeable sound change from last time [user] custom value *now this is cleary a bug that Fiio Music App's EQ preset doesn't work*
I don't know when this issue happen since I usually do not intend to use EQ with hifi player. But this are reproducible on.
M11 fw 1.0.7, Music app 1.1.5
M11Pro fw 1.0.0, Music app 1.1.5
*note: also reproducible from google play store App (last update Sep 28, ver 1.1.5) so this issue probably universal to all device with Fiio Music app 1.1.5
Another issue that keep bugging me since I own M11 from 3 month ago is in Fiio Music the [Recently Played] wrongly indicate current playing song.
For example
- with music stop,
- on the bottom of app in [Recently Played] list might look like this:
[Song A: with unique icon that tell us this is the last one we played]
[Song B]
[Song C]
- now touch on [Local Music] > select any music that was not in the [Recently Played] before for ie. Select [Song D]
- We are jump in to the Song's Album art display.
- Push back till we back at the top level again
- Observe: On the top display it show the current playing song correctly [Song D] in this case
- But on the [Recently Played] list it now show as
[Song D]
[Song A: with unique icon that tell us this is the current playing song] *Bug: the indicator should be at Song D instead of this
[Song B]
[Song C]
Both of them are not a world end bug. But a little bug like this keep me wonder if there is anything else left uncheck that might keep hindrance the true performance of your HiFi Player.
Please Fix your software.
